About Us

A latin woman sitting on a white studio floor wearing a traditional Mexican yellow strapless dress with green floral embroidery and holding a small white dog wearing a traditional Mexican bandana from Firulais Co. She is also wearing black cowboy boots against a plain light gray background.

Firulais Co.

How it began

I learned to sew through my grandmother and was often found making bandanas from old t-shirts for my dogs as a hobby. I then realized there was not enough representation for pets in Hispanic/Latino households. Therefore, I began to branch out to serape textiles and reach out to artisans. I deeply found myself emerging into my newfound hobby and thus Firulais Co. began.

My pets are the heart behind Firulais Co. (Left to right) Molly, my Blue Heeler/German Shepherd mix, was rescued from Salinillas, Nuevo León, Mexico. Onyx, my American Shorthair, was found as a stray on the streets of San Antonio, Texas. Macie Bean, my Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix, was rescued in my hometown of Laredo, Texas, and Kelly, my Blue Heeler, was also found as a stray on the streets of Laredo. Their stories inspired me to build a brand where Mexican culture and our love for pets come together, creating pieces that honor where we come from and celebrate the traditions we share with every member of the family, paws included.
